• How do I setup Windows Live Mail in Windows7?

Step 1: First of all, Windows7 does not ship out of the box with a mail client. It can be downloaded as a package with a Messenger, Mail client, a Writer for blogging, a Photo organizer, a photo Moviemaker, and a Family Safety browser package. Click Here to go to the site for more information and downloads. After the download and installation is complete, your new mail client can be found in your Start menu under Windows Live. Click on the Windows Live Mail icon. The Quick views - Windows Live Mail window will open. On the left hand side of the window is a notice to: Add e-mail account. Click on it.

Step 2: The Add an E-mail Account wizard will open. At the E-mail address box, type in your email address. Bear in mind, that this is the address that people who receive mail from you will return it to. So, it's important that the correct address is entered. It is also used as your username to gain access to your email account.

Step 3: Now move to the Password box and enter your password. Beneath it is a box labeled Remember password. It would be best to leave this box checked. If it is unchecked, you will be prompted to enter your password each and every time you send and receive mail.

Step 4: Next enter your name as you want it to appear to everyone that gets an email from you in the Display Name box. Most people use their full name, but you can use any name - even a nickname or business name - that people will recognize. With that completed, click Next.

Step 5: In this new window, you will only be changing or adding information in the outlined areas. In the incoming and outgoing server boxes, enter the following: mail.maxiis.com. It is important to make sure that the server names are entered exactly as noted. Check the box labeled My outgoing server requires authentication. Double check all of the information entered on the page and if correct, click Next.

Step 6: Close the E-mail Account wizard by clicking Finish. You are now ready to send and receive email through Windows Live Mail. Another nice feature of this program is that it integrates itself easily into web mail clients like G-mail, Hot Mail and Yahoo mail. Setup for integrating these types of mail clients can be found in Live Mail help.
